Je me demandais quelle voiture conduit Joe Mannix.Dans la saison 1,il a un Olsdmobile Toronado.
Mais dans les autres saisons,il conduit une voiture verte,je pense de la game Chrysler,mais laquelle.

Chrysler Corporation never made a 1972 or 1973 Cuda convertible, but Joe Mannix got to drive one. This car was actually a 1971 model delivered to Paramount in April of 1971 and was customized by Paramount at Fernwood Autobody in Pasadena, CA. Chrysler Corporation also allowed ’71 model Barracudas and Challengers to be converted to ’72 models for other shows like The Brady Bunch, The Mod Squad, and Medical Center. The conversion on the Cuda consisted of changing the front lamps, grill, lower valance and insert. It also entailed covering up the fender grill holes, replacing the rear body panel and tail lamps, and changing the color to British Racing Green. Notice the ‘70 –’71 style side marker lamps were retained. I read the reason for changing the color to British Racing Green was that in prior seasons the 1968 – 1969 Dodge Darts were British Racing Green and they felt is the Cuda was the same color they could use the Darts as backup in case of a Cuda breakdown and no one would notice. In fact, I’ve seen two episodes where they used the Cuda in one scene and a Dart in the next. I found the car on Ebay. Including Paramount, I’m the 5th owner. The first two owners after Paramount had the car for 32 years combined. The person I purchased it from had it less than 1 year and was not a collector. He knew of its TV history, but wanted to make a red on white ’71 4 speed Hemi clone of it. He brought it a body shop and he said, “I then got sticker shock” so he thought he’d see what he could make on it by putting it up for sale on Ebay. I purchased it in May of 2003. Most of the front had been converted back to the 1971 model, but the rear tail panel and lamps were still the 1972 style. Most all of the 1972/1973 front was included in the sale. Other than having some relatively unseen prior damage, the car was absolutely rust free with only 31,000 miles on the odometer.

The “star car” of Mannix for two seasons (1968-69) was this 1968 Dodge Dart GTS convertible, powered by the high-output 340 V8. Because a swingin’ private eye like Joe Mannix couldn’t be seen tooling around L.A. in a box-stock vehicle, Mannix executive producer, Bruce Geller, dropped the Dart at George Barris’ shop for some mild “Kustomization” work that included crafting functional hood scoops and a rear deck spoiler, adding a racing style gas cap, and wiring in a Motorola mobile-phone (a crazily expensive device, back in the day.) When it first rolled onto the Paramount lot in Hollywood, and parked in Mannix’s carport at his famous 17 Paseo Verde address, the Dart was quickly on its way to becoming a TV-car icon.

But the greatest mystery of the entire Mannix series may have been about this very car. After filming wrapped, it was sold and then lost for nearly 40 years. A chance encounter by a hiker in the Sierra mountains rediscovered the Dart, after years of neglect. The hiker, a Mannix fan, brought the Dart back to life, a bit at a time.

In 2009, I purchased the car from fellow TV car aficionado Bill Krzastek (owner of the Volvo P1800 used in The Saint) and finished the mechanical details.
