1 de 3 Super Snake "continuation"
Lot 1375 - In the 1960s, Carroll Shelby made automotive history with the creation of the Cobra. And the high-performance Super Snake was the "Cobra to end all Cobras." In fact, only two original Super Snakes were ever produced in period. One was Carroll Shelby's personal vehicle, CSX 3015, the other - CSX 3303 - was tragically destroyed. Since then, Shelby produced what is known as continuation Cobras. This Super Snake, CSX 4404, is one of only three continuation Super Snakes known to exist and be authorized by Shelby. As fate would have it, CSX 4404 was completed and delivered by Shelby right at the time of Carroll's passing in May 2012. Just like Carroll's car, this aluminum-bodied Super Snake is powered by a 427ci V8 engine is fitted with the same twin Paxton superchargers feeding dual @Holley 4-barrel carburetors sitting atop a cross-ram intake manifold. The engine is mated to a Toploader 4-speed manual transmission. CSX 4404 is beautifully finished in Guardsman Blue with black side pipes and a chrome roll bar. The specially made larger aluminum scooped hood was necessary to clear the superchargers and dual four-barrel carburetors. The interior features black leather seats, black carpet, and Shelby S/C type gauges with additional gauges to monitor boost and fuel pressure. CSX 4404 has had only one owner and has been driven less than 25 miles from new. The car comes complete with its Build Sheet and the original Shelby Automobiles, Inc. MSO signed by Carroll himself, as was the dashboard.

Lot #1347 - Built on December 11, 1987, this 1987 Buick Grand National has a significant place in history. As the very last Grand National built, this car marked the end of General Motor's mid-size rear-wheel-drive G Platform. It also marked the closing of GM's Pontiac, MI, assembly plant, which had been responsible for producing millions of cars since it first opened in 1927. This Grand National was the final car to leave the assembly line and it features unprecedented levels of photo and video documentation.

Re: Barrett-Jackson 50e - Scottsdale 22-30 janvier 2022
Lot 1382 - It was Road & Track who referred to piloting a Shelby Cobra as "driving at its brightest," this car being no exception. Noted for its pivotal role in the early days of Shelby American, CSX 2032 - more commonly known as the "Lance Reventlow Cobra" is a true one-of-one. Invoiced to British-born American entrepreneur, racing driver and heir to the Woolworth fortune Lance Reventlow on January 2, 1963, CSX 2032 represents an important chapter in Carroll Shelby's enduring legacy. As the 32nd Cobra scheduled for production CSX 2032 was one of only 73 Cobras fitted with the early 260ci Hi-Po V8 engine. Delivered in white with a red interior, the Cobra was highly optioned having been ordered with nearly all factory available competition items. The sole exception being the Halibrand "kidney bean" alloy knock-off wheels. The car was also optioned with bumper guards, wind wings, sun visors, safety belts and other items more commonly found on road going Shelbys. As indicated in the World Registry of Cobras & GT40s, "Reventlow may have simply decided to order a Cobra with as many available options as possible in an effort to lend financial support to his friend Shelby." As long-standing friends, Shelby and Reventlow had raced together on numerous occasions. Reventlow, owned Scarab, an American racing constructor noted for being the first American outfit to venture into the open wheeled world of Formula 1. Based in Venice, CA, Scarab employed engineering genius Phil Remington as chief engineer as well as famed racing driver Ken Miles. In June 1962, Reventlow ceased operations of Scarab's racing endeavors and leased his shop and manufacturing facility to Carroll Shelby for use in developing and building the Shelby Cobra. Included in the sale of this historic Shelby Cobra is the first original rent check that was given to Reventlow Automobiles Inc. on August 15, 1962. This check as well as CSX 2032 represents the business relationship that Carroll Shelby shared with Lance Reventlow. Wonderfully documented CSX 2032 boasts a storied history all its own. The car traded hands through a number of high-profile collectors and in the late 1970s (1977-1978) was campaigned as a winning race car. In its current configuration the car is powered by a Bob Prouty built 289ci V8 engine built to Hi-Po specifications. During its days as a racer, the fenders were flared to accommodate larger wheels and tires. Although several upgrades and modifications have been added, all parts and components are proper and correct Shelby Cobra parts and CSX 2032 still maintains its original body, frame and chassis. The car currently presents in black with solid white roundels adorning the side and yellow stripes over the front fenders. This 1962 Shelby Cobra CSX 2032 is one of the most important cars to the legacy of all Cobra's built and all Shelby's still being built today.

Elvis Presley sang about them, but he never had a car like “Blue Suede Shoes,” a one-of-a-kind 1959 Buick Invicta custom coupe. The no-expenses-spared build by @KindigitDesign took 18 months, 13,000 man-hours and $715,000 to come to life. The car sits on an Art Morrison chassis with coilover shocks, tubular independent front suspension and a 4-link rear suspension, and is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine with custom finishings to match the curvatures of the hood as well as to resemble an original Buick Nailhead. The V8 is backed by a GM Performance 4L80E automatic transmission. The massive rear fins are in place, and the Invicta’s classic lines and rich chrome trim are accentuated with exterior modifications, including a cast-molded custom grille, tucked bumpers that pull into the body and door handles built into the side trim. One-off EVOD wheels with wide whites built into them complete the look. As you would expect, the fully custom interior is richly appointed in blue suede and blue leather, with hand-cut lacing and tooled leather by JS Interiors in Salt Lake City. Additional features include custom @DakotaDigitalTV gauges, full Kicker IQ audio components and subwoofers, as well as power steering, power windows, locks and trunk. In addition to being featured on the tv show "Bitchin' Rides," Blue Suede Shoes has appeared at multiple @SEMA Show's and has won numerous awards, including Top 5 Hot August Nights, Top 12 Finalist Goodguys Custom of the Year, Multiple Goodguys Builders Choice Awards, Best in Show Kool Deadwood Nights, Best in Show Counts Car Show, Top 5 Dickinson Car Show, and many other Best in Show or Best in Class accolades. Built for enjoying the road, it has already completed two 3,000-plus-mile road tours

This one-of-a-kind Resto-Mod was professionally built and restored by its longtime owner, Patrick Pogrant of Patrick’s Classy Cars in 2019. Dressed in deep black, with the classic “The Judge” motif tastefully slung on the side, this timeless “Goat” is pumped up in all the right places. Under the hood is GM's supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine. Producing a factory-rated 650hp and 650 ft/lbs of torque, this powerplant inhales via custom-built cold air intake and intercooler and announces itself thanks to a set of Ultimate Headers with a full 3-inch ceramic-coated exhaust system. The V8 also sports a Street Shop front accessory drive system and custom-built coil pack covers with chrome accents giving the engine a clean look. A Quick Time bellhousing connects the V8 to a TREMEC TKO-600 5-speed manual transmission with a .64 drive ratio and Mcleod RST twin street clutch. Completing the drivetrain is a polished 3-inch aluminum driveshaft with billet ends and Strange Engineering S-Series rear end with 3.89:1 ratio and Strange 31-spline axles. This GTO rides on an Art Morrison Sport chassis with an independent front suspension, chrome control arms and C6 Corvette spindles. In keeping with the Resto-Mod theme, the Pontiac features a Detroit Speed power rack & pinion steering with Strange Engineering monotube coilover shocks and chrome rear trailing arms. It stops on a dime, too, with braking power handled by a set of 14-inch Wilwood brakes with 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. One of the last products of Pogrant’s master skills, this GTO has been stored temperature-controlled environment since the restoration was completed.

Corvette 68 427/435 !
Lot 1420 - Alan Shepard is known as the first American in outer space, and this was his 1968 Corvette convertible painted white with a brown leather interior. As one of the 12 astronauts in the NASA program, Shepard was provided a Chevrolet courtesy car and ultimately leased a 1968 Corvette convertible for $1 from GM and through a local Chevrolet dealer. Shepard was known to select specific options for his cars, and this is one of 664 Corvettes made in this combination in 1968. This car was factory-optioned with an L89 Tri-Power-equipped 427ci V8 engine package rated at 435hp and a 4-speed manual transmission. This car spent time in the Corvette Museum of American and other places and has documentation showing it was an addition to the earlier NASA facility display and Corvette Museum of America. It was on display at the NASA U.S. Space Walk of Fame Museum in Titusville, FL, stating it was Shepard's car with the documented VIN. This car comes with the original Tank Sticker, order sheet, and Corvette Club registration documents along with other documentation, including magazine articles, a GM courtesy car letter and museum display articles.
Re: Barrett-Jackson 50e - Scottsdale 22-30 janvier 2022
Un des gros morceaux à venir !
This eye-catching Shelby Cobra 427 has lots of stories to tell. Billed to Shelby American on Dec. 14, 1966, it was originally sold by Paradise Ford of Scottsdale, AZ, in 1967. Straight from the factory, it was red with a black interior and powered by a 427-cubic-inch side-oiler V8 engine with a single 4V carburetor. In the early 1980s, the car traded hands with numerous Shelby enthusiasts in Texas before being acquired by a Northern California collector. In the early 1990s, CSX 3356 received a full restoration from Mike McClusky, at which time the car was repainted metallic blue with white stripes and upgraded to full Semi-Competition (S/C) specifications. Upgrades include a revised dashboard and trunk, early taillights and an oil-cooler scoop, as well as widened front fender flares and lipped rear fenders. Additionally, the battery was relocated to the trunk, a common racing modification that improved weight distribution and insulated the battery from the heat of the engine. CSX 3356 is documented in the Shelby Registry.
