1 de 2 Carolina Blue
1 de 80 L88 de 1968
On this First Look, Craig Jackson and April Rose are in studio with a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Delivered new to Bauman Chevrolet of Pittsburgh, PA, in a special-order color of GMC Fleet Light Blue that is commonly referred to as Carolina Blue, this Z/28 was the focus of a High-Performance Summer Sale in 1969. With only three documented owners, it underwent a no-expense-spared professional concours restoration in 2021. The Camaro is powered by a 302ci V8 with an M21 4-speed manual close-ratio transmission and has 19,719 documented miles. Every piece of sheet metal is original GM with the wheelhouses, quarters, floors and trunk floor being original to the car. The interior also is 100 percent original GM, including the headliner and carpet. Every component, engine compartment, glass and all wheels are all original and/or date-coded to the car, and it features a full matching-numbers drivetrain. This Camaro scored a 97 percent Concours Gold through Legends judging at the 2021 Camaro Nationals and also was the first Camaro to achieve a perfect score at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. Believed to be one of only two Carolina Blue 1969 Z/28s in existence.
1 de 80 L88 de 1968
More than an average sports car, the L88 was Corvette’s top-dog race-spec option. Only 216 L88s were built between 1967 and ’69; this particular L88 is one of 80 built in 1968. Powered by a rebuilt 427/430hp V8 engine mated to an M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed manual transmission, this garage-kept ’Vette with fewer than 25,000 miles, was professionally repainted in its original Polar White color and features its original red leather interior. It comes equipped with its factory exhaust, radio delete and a removable back window.

Quelques voitures vedettes ...
Craig Jackson and April Rose bring you this First Look before our 2022 Scottsdale Auction. Celebrating its 60th anniversary in style, this 1962 Lincoln Continental custom convertible with White Gold Metallic paint is aptly named “Gold Dust.” Built by Weld County Kustomz of Apache Junction, AZ, the car is powered by a Ford Performance 5.0-liter Coyote V8 crate engine paired with a @Ford Motor Company 4R70W 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission. The engine was styled in the @Lincoln livery and has painted covers and intake plenum to color match with the car; it was fitted with a custom intake and Pro Tuning Labs headers and is supported by a fully polished aluminum Watson radiator. The car sits on a full Weld County Kustomz chassis front to back with a 2000 Silverado rack & pinion power steering unit tied to GSI Fabrication tubular control arms and @Wilwood Disc Brakes Pro spindles with sealed hubs. The all-steel body is painted with Glasurit material in White Gold GN code, and it retains all its factory-provided brightwork trim. The front bumper license plate was shaved and rechromed, and the grille was completely rechromed. The interior was fully customized by Armando’s Upholstery with soft brown leather custom bucket seats, a custom console and a factory-style stitch pattern that carries through to the door panels as well. The dash is factory wood delete with painted surfaces and the instrument panel is fitted with @DakotaDigitalTV gauges in the factory Lincoln bezels. Custom climate control vents direct the @Vintage Air inc and appear to be stock-looking but complement the Colorado Customs steering wheel and Flaming River column. “Gold Dust” was a Barrett-Jackson Cup contender at 2021 Scottsdale, on the cover of the January 2020 issue of Hemmings Motor News and was the 2020 First Place winner at the Pomona, CA, Grand Nationals.

LE Dernier Grand National
Built on Dec. 11, 1987, this car marked the end of General Motor's mid-size rear-wheel-drive G Platform and the closing of GM's Pontiac, MI, assembly plant. It was purchased by Buick dealership owner Bob Colvin, who prominently displayed it in a specially made 23-by-13-foot climate-controlled “bedroom” at his house. With only 33 miles and powered by a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, it still wears the original Window Sticker that says, "The Last Grand National," and all the factory-installed interior plastic is still in place. This black beauty with gray interior has unprecedented levels of photo and video documentation. A GM film crew captured the car's final assembly and the emotional line workers who autographed their names on the engine and throughout the undercarriage as each installed his or her part for the final time. As the Buick progressed down the assembly line, the workers decorated it with signs reading, "Built by the Best" and "The End," and both signs are included in the sale. Designating it is the final Grand National, Buick applied an additional badge to the header panel, just above the passenger side headlight assembly. The car was prominently displayed by Buick at the 2003 Buick Centennial in Flint, MI, and starred in the 2012 film "BLACK AIR: The Buick Grand National Documentary."
Actor and comedian David Spade may be best known for his roles in such films as “Joe Dirt” and “Tommy Boy,” but he’s also an avid car collector, and he’s selling his 1968 Chevelle at No Reserve. Powered by an upgraded GM LS3 V8 engine displacing 6.2 liters and mated to a 4L70E automatic transmission this muscle car was built by @Velocity Restorations in Pensacola, FL. The engine features stainless American Racing long-tube headers and a custom stainless steel dual exhaust system with @magnaflow mufflers and has been fitted with a Concept One serpentine drive and @Holley fuel rails. The stoke frame was fully powder-coated in Satin Black, and the body is wrapped @PPG Paints Deep Black with Satin Black stripes outlined with Kolor Kandy Red. The trim, bumpers and engine bay are all finished in Satin Black to match the stripes. Inside, the fully bespoke interior features black leather seats with red stitching taken from a 2010 Camaro; matching leather is used on the door panels and dashboard. Additional upgrades include an Alcantara headliner, @DakotaDigitalTV gauges, power windows, Clayton Machine Works pedals, a @Billet Specialties steering wheel and a Shiftmaster push-button shifter. And with dual 10-inch subwoofers and Hertz Audio 3-way component speakers front and rear, this is one ride you won’t want to miss.
Ford GT
The Ford GT is an iconic “halo” model that best represents the technological capabilities of the Ford marque, and these two modern supercars — road-going interpretations of the legendary GT40 endurance racing car — are no exception. Featuring a stripe delete, the all-silver GT (Lot 1355) with black interior is one of 2,027 produced in 2005. It is powered by a 5.4-liter V8 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 2006 GT Heritage Edition (Lot 1390) is one of only 343 produced that year. Just 24 miles from new, it is powered by an aluminum 5.4-liter DOHC V8 engine with 550hp mated to a Ricardo 6-speed transmission and is featured in the iconic Heritage Edition paint scheme with HID headlamps. Both vehicles are from the Mile-High Collection and are selling with No Reserve.

Re: Barrett-Jackson 50e - Scottsdale 22-30 janvier 2022
Known as “257”, this American classic underwent a Division 1 Class restoration, the most expensive and difficult type of concours restoration to perform, with the intention of having it compete in the SAAC Shelby concours judging process. It went on to become one of only seven ’65 GT350s to earn the coveted Concours Premier Award — an honor bestowed upon it twice, once at the July 2021 SAAC-46 convention in Sonoma, CA, and at the October 2021 Indiana SAAC Fall Classic Convention in French Lick, IN. The Premier Award is the highest award given to any Shelby judged at this level. This stunner features a 289ci V8 engine with 4-speed transmission and has Shelby American-installed KONI shocks, override traction bars, aluminum intake manifold, Cobra oil pan and exhaust headers. The interior is black with racing lap belts and features a wooden Cobra steering wheel and dash-mounted pod with tachometer and oil pressure gauge. The exterior features Wimbledon White with a fiberglass hood, prop rod and functional hood scoop. The desirable steel wheels, no racing stripes and trunk-mounted battery location make this Shelby a rare and desirable collector car.
Big-displacement V8 high-performance cars were nearly extinct by the mid-1970s, yet Pontiac held the line with its fast, great-handling and audacious Firebird Trans Am. While sales hardly required assistance, popularity was boosted by its now-iconic starring role with Burt Reynolds in the 1977 movie, "Smokey and the Bandit." Reynolds continued to be closely associated with the Trans Am throughout his life, and this Starlight Black-and-Gold 1977 Trans Am Special Edition was a promotional vehicle later gifted to Mr. Reynolds as a "thank you" for his pivotal role in its massive success. It is also the sole '77 Trans Am owned by Reynolds. Well-equipped, the Y82 SE car was optioned with air conditioning, a 180hp 400ci Pontiac V8 engine, M40 automatic transmission and twin-hatch T-roof. It saw limited usage with Mr. Reynolds during his lengthy ownership, which continued to late 2014, and was kept at the famed actor's Jupiter, FL, home until acquisition by the seller, the car's second owner. In 2015, it was professionally restored in Dallas, TX, to its virtual "as-new" glory, including the extensive gold striping and gothic lettering, with care taken to preserve the hand-painted "Bandit" lettering atop each door and scuff marks left by Burt's cowboy boots on the driver's sill plate. The car was reunited again with Mr. Reynolds when it returned as the centerpiece in the "2019 Bandit Run," culminating in a visit to Reynolds' Florida estate. This event was the last for Mr. Reynolds, and he thoroughly enjoyed being reunited with his former car, signing the glovebox door. Iron-clad Burt Reynolds' provenance is confirmed by the Florida title, signed and autographed by him. Includes an engraved dedication plate affixed to the driver's door, an autographed copy of Burt Reynolds' "But Enough About Me" autobiography, plus a late-1970s style "Trans Am" jacket and "Bandit" cowboy hat, as well as a professionally made show board and a DVD of the film that started it all.
This custom 1972 Ford F-100 named "El Diablo" is powered by a 5.0-liter Coyote engine topped with a Whipple Superchargers and mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The beautifully painted high-gloss red exterior includes many body modifications, such as the front clip narrowed 2 inches to line up perfectly with the hood, the bed widened in front 1 inch to line up with the cab, custom-fabricated heat extractors in the hood and engine compartment, auto-lift bed center, tucked front and rear bumpers, shaved marker lights, welded body seams, custom tailgate with pulled-out center panel and lettering for a modern flair, flush-mount glass and hand-fabricated satin aluminum side trim. Upgraded with Wilwood Disc Brakes, custom El Diablo machined calipers, and Intro wheels wrapped with Pirelli tires. The chassis and frame were hand-fabricated and finished in satin red with silver for detail and incorporate Currie 9-inch rear end mounted to a 4-link rear suspension, 4-wheel Airlift custom air ride with remote mounted compressors and console-mounted controller, and Heidts front suspension components. The red leather interior was handcrafted by Recovery Room Upholstery using the finest materials. The seat was created using bucket seat lowers and a bench rear section. The console is built into the center of the bucket lower section creating a seamless effect when adjusting the seat. The console cradles the controls for the Vintage Air inc air conditioning and heater, transmission floor shifter and custom billet trim. The fully custom dash was smoothed for visual cleanliness and includes custom trim and a frenched-in early '50-style gauge cluster. Finally, the door interior panels were created using Mustang-themed components, including door release levers. El Diablo is very well-known and was chosen for the Truck of the Year award at Goodguys car show in 2021, Barret-Jackson Cup Top 5 in 2021, Lone Star Throw Down winner, three magazine covers and has been deemed "Best Bump Side Ford truck ever built."
Ford’s wildly successful Mustang, with its almost limitless array of models, has captivated the public like no other automobile. In late 1969, Ford was approached by American Raceway International (ARI) to build a special batch, including five special Mustang pace car convertibles and five “VIP” Mach 1 fastbacks. As part of the project, Ford pre-sold “Twister Specials,” including the award-winning 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Twister Special. Finished in Grabber Orange paint with special Mach 1 stripes and graphics, plus a special “Twister” logo at each rear fender, Lot 1336 is one of the 48 R-code 428 SCJ cars and rarer still as one of 24 Twister Specials equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission. Retaining the vast majority of its original sheet metal, it underwent a total photo-documented rotisserie restoration in 2014 by RJ Restorations in Minnesota. Numbered 120302, Lot 1336.1, the Grabber Blue 1970 Ford Mustang 428CJ Convertible ARI Pace Car was used on Atlanta International Raceway during the 1970 racing season. It eventually was acquired by collector Bruce Weiss and restored for museum display. It retains its original body components, wiring, interior, convertible top, engine, transmission, rear and most other miscellaneous parts. Numbered 120301, Lot 1336.2, the Grabber Green 1970 Ford Mustang 428 SCJ Convertible Pace Car was assigned to Michigan International Speedway (MIS) and subsequently sold to a private individual. Its whereabouts remained unknown until 1990, when it was discovered beneath a tarp behind a garage. It underwent a total restoration and comes with a duplicate original build sheet and several period photographs of it at Ford Motor Co.’s world headquarters and at MIS. All three vehicles are part of the Mile-High Collection.
This first-year Yenko Super Camaro 450 is pure American supercar royalty. Bearing Yenko serial number YS-725, it began as a rare (one of 1,138 built) RPO L78 396/375hp car with a Muncie M21 close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission, finished in Code EE Deepwater Blue Poly paint with Code 760-Z black standard bucket seats, as documented by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish. Following shipment to Yenko Chevrolet, it was upgraded to full Super Camaro 427/450hp standard for $677.27; the car was completed on July 18, 1967. A copy of a handwritten Yenko invoice on file and available for inspection lists the many upgrades, including metallic brakes, heavy-duty clutch and pressure plate, high-capacity cooling system, a Stewart Warner tachometer and instrument package, a fiberglass hood, Traction Master traction bars, tuned headers and "427" emblems. Documents include the detailed MacNeish appraisal, COPO Connection and Camaro Hi-Performance LLC Certificates of Authenticity, copies of the Yenko conversion and dealer invoices, a copy of the original shipping record, an NCRS Shipping Data Report and letter from the original owner. Listed in the Yenko Supercar Registry, this Super Camaro retains its original VIN plate and hidden VIN cowl stamping, which were verified by MacNeish, and it also has been inspected and affirmed authentic by original Yenko mechanic Warren Dernoshek.
Re: Barrett-Jackson 50e - Scottsdale 22-30 janvier 2022
Quelques autres qui attirerons surement beaucoup l'attention
Lot 1414 - @Mercedes-Benz replaced their famous 300SL "Gullwing" in 1957 with a convertible version using a new lightweight tubular steel frame design and fuel-injected 215 hp straight 6-cylinder engine. You could order the roadster as a convertible, with soft-top only, a coupe with a hardtop only, or with both soft- and hardtops. Technologically improved, with more horsepower, a sportier camshaft, significantly better rear suspension and doors that made getting in and out a breeze. It was a huge success, outselling the Gullwing by over 25 percent. In total, 1,858 300SL roadsters were built, most of these ending up in the U.S. thanks to Mercedes-Benz importer Max Hoffman in New York. The 300SL was the first production car to use mechanical fuel injection. Borrowing technology from Mercedes-Benz's highly successful racing team, the 300SL was lightweight, powerful and fun to drive. They are considered by many to be the most important Mercedes-Benz ever built. This 1959 Mercedes-Benz 300SL roadster with both factory hardtop and black soft-top is a matching-numbers example. A desirable "big-drum-brake" car with sporty chromed wheels, this roadster shows extremely well, having benefitted from an older restoration. Paint and chrome show very little patina. Gull Wing Group records indicate just three known owners; two in New Jersey and, the most recent, a collector in Pennsylvania. Painted the iconic Mercedes-Benz Fire Engine Red, with a dark gray interior, chassis 9500027 was originally born with a cream leather interior. The previous owner was a true car lover and collector, and this 300SL is a testament to his attention to detail and care for his cars. It is accompanied by a copy of the factory Data Card and offered with its original jack and spare wheel.
More than 10 years and 10,000 hours of extensive build time have been invested into this multiple-award-winning "rolling piece of art" show truck that pays homage to the golden age of automobile styling. The one-off Decoliner was created with aluminum and composite materials by Dale Gerry Street Rods in Vancouver, British Columbia. The frame is a 23-foot-long highly engineered custom show-condition aluminum tandem axle chassis. It houses a GM crate 502ci Ram Jet fuel-injected V8 engine backed with a Gearstar Performance 4L80E overdrive automatic transmission. A Duramax radiator with electric fans helps keep this big block powerplant cool. The massive engine is supported by a Dale Gerry front cross member with independent suspension, a custom aluminum Ford 9-inch housing and Dutchman axles in the rear. The factory steel GM cab was stretched, and two additional original Chevrolet doors were carefully installed by hand. This custom truck rides on computer-controlled fully adjustable air-ride suspension with Alden shocks. Other exterior features include a 1955 Chevrolet front bumper and American Racing Torq Thrust wheels for the classic look. The new cab features four bucket seats and door panels draped in custom Italian red leather by Lee Baxter’s Hot Rod Interiors and a custom Chrysler Windsor "Astro Dome" dash with Dakota Digital gauges. It is equipped with Vintage Air climate control and has a custom audio system by Andres Car Audio. The rear portion of the body hides a compartment that opens like the cargo bay of the space shuttle and is the perfect place to stash luggage or four bags of golf clubs.
Based on Pontiac’s Firebird Sport Turismo and Tunnel-Port racing projects, this Trans Am option for its popular Firebird is instantly recognizable with Cameo White paint, Medium Blue stripes and rear panel, Dark Blue Deluxe upholstery and full-width rear airfoil. It entered service on June 23, 1969, as a Pontiac Motor Division company car, and in the early 1990s underwent a comprehensive and faithful restoration that included factory-correct blue custom trim bucket seats and console delete. Incredibly rare as one of only 55 1969 Trans Ams optioned with the Ram Air IV mill, which delivers 345 factory-rated horsepower for true performance addicts, this example is one of the nine coupes produced with the optional M40 3-speed automatic transmission; of those, this car is one of two equipped with a column-mounted shifter. Handsomely marking the start of an All-American high-performance legend, this Trans Am was professionally refreshed in 2010, followed by acquisition for the Mile-High Collection in 2015.
Lot 1088 - One of 404 built (214 were 4-speeds), this 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible is powered by a J-code 302ci V8 engine mated to a 4-speed transmission. Shipped to Koons Ford (Falls Church, VA) on May 23, 1968, sold on June 6, 1968. Options include power steering, power disc brakes, black convertible power top, Lucas driving lights, tilt-away steering column and deluxe black interior. Purchased in 2016 from long-term owner, who purchased it in 1975. This Shelby has 79,000 miles (the title reads mileage exempt). Complete owner history included in the documentation. A concours restoration was completed in 2000 by MCA/SAAC National Judges. Shown between 2000 and 2011, earning multiple Concours Gold awards at MCA/SAAC National events. Complete refresh and update finished in 2021, including new paint by Brown's Auto Body, re-detail of the undercarriage, interior and engine bay to bring it to current concours standards. Re-restoration was performed by the owner, Charles Turner, former Mustang Club of America National Head Judge and the current SAAC National Head Judge. After the recent re-restoration, 2152 achieved a Concours Gold award at an MCA National Show in September 2021. A high percentage of parts used for the first restoration in 2000 were original or NOS Ford. The second restoration improved upon that and included parts like a Scott Fuller exhaust. All components received rebuilding or re-detailing. All-new brake components, including rebuilt booster, new master cylinder, proportioning valve, wheel cylinders, concours-correct hoses and rebuilt calipers. A new set of five Goodyear E70x15 tires were installed on Kelsey-Hayes 15-inch wheels with correct freshly restored Shelby wheel covers. Additionally, it features the rebuilt original Holley carburetor, new gas tank and rubber fuel hoses. Less than 200 miles driven between first and second restorations. Extensive documentation and restoration photos included.
This highly equipped SS comes to Scottsdale from the Great White North. Delivered new to Town Centre Chevrolet in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, it has since undergone a complete concours rotisserie restoration and is fully documented by GM of Canada Vintage Vehicle Services, GM of Canada microfiche, as well as copies of the previous ownership registrations. Refinished in its original color of Cranberry Red, black stripes and black convertible top with a black bucket seat interior, it retains its matching-numbers 454/450hp V8 LS6 engine mated to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. This Chevelle comes equipped with tinted glass, bucket seats, center console, power soft-top, rear-window defogger, 4.10 posi-traction rear axle, power steering and power front disc brakes, F70-14 white-letter tires, AM radio with cassette player, tachometer with gauges, cowl-induction hood and SS trim package.
