Pappert
Le premier CANADIEN gagnant du Ridler !
John Pappert - ’34 Model Y English Ford - Kitchener, Ontario
Un article de 2010 indiquait qu'il était toujours propriété de John Pappert !
Car has been kept as originally built by John Pappert. It has a 302-cubic-inch Ford engine, C4 automatic transmission, independent front and rear suspension (heavily chromed), four-wheel power disk brakes, power steering, power windows, and polished stainless steel gas tank and subfloor. The interior is leather with cut-down Mustang buckets, overhead console, tilt and telescoping steering column and black carpeting. Car has been driven approximately 8,500 miles since it was completed in 1982. The paint is black lacquer with flames and is original to the build, showing some cracking and imperfections, but presentable. The car features the original Henry Ford steel body, fenders and tank cover with the only modification being the filled roof. The entire chassis is custom built. The car handles and performs very well. The wheelbase is 90 inches and the car looks like a smaller 1933/34 Ford Model 40. It is registered in California under YOM (Year of Mfg.) plates and includes 1934 California license plates
Mark and Deborah Oldham 1934 Ford Model "Y". I recently bought and I’m restoring to its former glory. This car was the only one from outside the U.S. to win the Ridler Award, which it did in 1982. Built in Canada by John Pappert. Features include 302 Ford engine, C-4 trans., Corvette rear suspension and homemade IFS using Corvette spindles and torsion bars. It has the original black lacquer/flames. It is now "retired" and living in Dana Point, CA with us.

Renaissance Delivery
Ron Barnum - '29 Ford 3-Door Sedan Delivery “Renaissance Delivery” - Dearborn, MI
(He was later tragically killed in a collision with a truck while transporting the car.)
A product of its time, the custom street rod features a medium chop in the roof and de-chromed, monochromatic exterior.

Bob Reed - ’34 Ford Altered Street Coupe - Poteau, OK
L'auto à refait surface en 2022 après plus de 25 ans de storage de la part du collectionneur décédé peu après son achat !
Winning the Ridler Award guarantees media attention, and Reed's remarkable coupe got plenty, including a cover photo and feature story in Street Rodder magazine. That's when Tony Pisano began his pursuit of the Khrome Shoppe Special. "When I saw the coupe, I said to myself 'I have to own that car one day.' So I called Bob Reed, but the car wasn't for sale. When I called him back later, he said he'd sold it to someone else." Tony tracked down the car, only to find out that its second owner had sold it shortly before passing away. At that point, the hot rod that had once been in the spotlight vanished, but Tony never gave up. A few years ago, he finally traced it to California, where the coupe he had to own had been stored for 25 years. "The fellow who owned it had passed away at 94 years old, and his family was selling off his car collection. I sent them a check—and now I own it!"
